2005- German Chancellor Angela Merkel
She was born on July 17, 1954 (65 years old) in Hamburg, Germany. She became Germany's first female prime minister in 2005.

Her greatest contribution was to help Germany weather the financial crisis. With the outbreak of the European financial crisis, she immediately carried out fiscal austerity, stipulated that a comprehensive budget cut and strict supervision are the cure for long-term debt in southern Europe. Over the years, Germany’s resilience, low unemployment and healthy exports have increased her popularity in the country, and she is widely known in the country during difficult times.
